Rachel Araiza
Human Resources Specialist
Rachel was born and raised in New Mexico. She relocated to Arizona in January of 2007. Although this is Wildcat country, she is actually a Lobo. Rachel graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Business Administration with an emphasis in Human Resources. She is a mom to an 8-year-old son and a 2 -year-old daughter. She does not have any specific favorite food since there are too many good foods to just choose one! What she likes about Tucson is actually the weather. She enjoys the nocturnal lifestyle, “with it being so hot on most days, Tucsonans seem to venture out at night. It's so common to see people exercising, walking their dog, or strolling after the sun goes down”. Rachel's hobbies include being a mom of 2 young beautiful kids, which doesn't leave much time for much else but she likes to read, try new recipes, and take time for herself when she can.
Seana Chaves
Assistant Program Manager
Seana Chaves is the Assistant Program Manager for the West Campus Learning Center. She has worked at Pima for 12 years. Seana earned her bachelors' degree in Health Sciences with a focus on Health Education from the Mel and Enid College of Public Health at the University of Arizona. She was born and raised in Tucson, “I love living here because of all the hiking and biking you can do. I am a cycling enthusiast with my husband, and we are bringing out children along for the ride too”. Seana loves watching any University of Arizona Wildcats sporting event, building puzzles, and hanging out with my kids. “I became a wellness warrior because I love to help people make healthier decisions and see them succeed in their health goals. It also helps to keep me accountable and making better decisions for myself and my family”.
Angela Moreno
Support Specialist
Angela was born in Tucson, Arizona. She has been employed with PCC for the last 10 years and has been a member of the wellness coalition for a little over 2 years. “I initially started with Pima College in the position of Facilities Coordinator and I am now the Support Specialist in the Communications Division”. Angela's favorite foods are Italian and Asian. What she likes most about Tucson are the Sunsets and Sunrises. Angela has lots of hobbies! She loves doing arts and crafts, baking, cooking, planning events, and volunteering. Angela spirit animals are crows, “there is a pair of Common Crows that live nearby, and they always come by to visit almost daily”.

Master Scheduler
Michele is from Bradford, Pennsylvania. She has worked in Higher Ed for almost 30 years at three universities prior to PCC. She grew up in an athletic family that had a garden, she learned to love vegetables and fruits. Michele's favorite food is Gnocchi, especially her grandmothers covered in her homemade tomato sauce and freshly grated Romano cheese. What she likes about Tucson is the weather, so many days of sunshine, and the cultural lifestyle. Michele's hobbies include reading, riding horses, running, swimming, being with family and friends. She admires horses because of their gentleness, strength, intelligence, and intuitiveness.
Marisa Saxton
Program Advisor
Marisa is from the small town of Bisbee, AZ. She has worked in higher education for nearly 15 years, her background also includes banking and retirement planning industries. Marisa loves food in general but some of her favorite foods include artichokes, avocados, and peanut butter! What Marisa likes about Tucson are the beautiful mountains with a lot of great hiking options. She also appreciates the people in the community. “I feel for being a small city, Tucson has a more welcoming small-town feel to it for the most part”. Her hobbies include yoga, running, and reading, and anything she can do with her amazing family! Marisa's animal of admiration is the elephant, “they are such powerful yet gentle animals which I have always found awe-inspiring. As a young girl, I loved learning how protective they are of those they love and that their herd leaders tend to be their matriarchs who approach leadership with a focus on the safety and well-being of each member of the herd”.
LeighAnn Rangel Sotomayor
Center for the Arts Manager
LeighAnn is originally from Upstate NY, but she has lived in Tucson for over 20 years. “I moved for the sun, mountains, and year-round warm weather”. Her favorite foods are Greek, Indian, and Mexican food. LeighAnn's background and hobbies include dance and psychology. She manages the Center for the Arts at Pima, teaches psychology, and serves as the discipline coordinator for our dance program. “I am also a mom of two wild and crazy children”. Her spirit animal is the tortoise. “I like to explore the world rather deliberately but also have the ability to retreat into the safety of my own protective shell."
